The Passion Of Christ - WHY?

Hello! Before we start, allow me to share something. The Lord is many things to a believer - Saviour, provider, healer, lover - but most of all, He wants to be your Shepherd.
Today, I would like to share with you about The Passion Of Christ and Why.
Many a time, we think of Jesus as God. He is God, but He came to earth as man. The Bible says that "being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself, and became obedident unto death, even the death of the cross". (Philippians 2:8 KJV) He divested Himself of all divine privieges and powers, and became Man. This means that, like any other human being, He had sentiments, affections and feelings.
If Jesus had come only as God, then He would not have been able to die on the cross for our sins because God cannot die. But man can die. So, He came as man and suffered as Man. The blood, sweat and tears were real. The pain was real.
We see His suffering when He prayed so desperately in the garden of Gethsemanem saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this vcup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done." (Luke 22:42) But there is a spiritual suffering here which we sometimes do not see.
What is that? We shall go on tomorrow...but before we end, I shall wrap this up.
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus made a decision that would forever change His destiny and ours. He chose not to abandon us and return to heaven, but to remain and be pierced at the cross, so that He could be with us and serve us forever.
Amen.
